What about Mom and Dad?
....senior living in Broken Arrow
What’s the difference between an old man and an elderly gentlemen; an old woman, an elderly lady? Is it money? Is it dignity? Is it Broken Arrow?
The Forum focus is on the status of seniors in Broken Arrow. As in every other stage of age, the needs of the elderly and their families vary according to health quality, financial resources, marital status and circle of friends, activity level, educational attainment, sense of community and it’s, still, about their children. It’s about lifestyle; not just the lifestyle of the senior members of the family but also of their children and grandchildren.
Bob Hancock, who builds unique, attractive and comfortable senior housing in downtown Broken Arrow says that most of his tenants did not relocate from within Broken Arrow; that most moved to his properties from other cities and states because their children live here, which makes senior living a human resource issue for businesses in our community (one may not be a happy employ in Broken Arrow if concerned about mom in Omaha). Hancock and other providers of Broken Arrow senior housing services will be recognized at the July Forum and representatives of the local industry will speak about the status of seniors living in Broken Arrow. Senior Living is about quality of life and economic opportunity in Broken Arrow . . . that makes it a community concern and a chamber priority.
